I arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia last Wednesday (22nd May), greeted by my lovely relatives Debi & Shirley & their four-legged friend, Bentley. I will be staying with them for just under 2 weeks. I came here 2 years ago with my Grandma, so am familiar with my surroundings although I'm eager to venture out and see more of this wonderful province.
I spent my first few days catching up on some must needed sleep & rest & a good catch up with family & friends out here. The day after I arrived, the Premier of Nova Scotia was campaigning on our street so I popped out and met him...what a welcoming party!!
We visited Laurencetown Beach the other day which has some amazing surf & during the summer, loads of surfers visit.

Sunday was a big day in Halifax as the local hockey team, the Mooseheads were in the final of the Memorial Cup (which they had never one), final game of the season in the CHL (Canadian Hockey League). Confusingly though, they were playing the Portland Winterhawks, an American team...strange I know. They were showing the game on a big screen outside City Hall so me & Stephen & a few of his mates headed down to watch it. We got out our folding chairs (Shirley had accidentally bought us junior ones, to others' amusement!) & started watching. A few hours later the Memorial Cup was won by the Mooseheads, fantastic game & I am now a lover of this sport!

Monday I spent the day wandering around the city, in and out of coffee shops (mainly to avoid the rain) just watching the world go by. Learnt a lot about the history of this wonderful city (I won't bore you) & have started to get to know my way around. Today is another chilled day, reading on the deck as the sun has finally come out! Taking a trip up to Cape Breton tomorrow & staying over night. It is the most visited place by tourists in Nova Scotia & has incredible scenery.
Until next time...
